刘辰(A.K.A 刘三菜,Dustymare),山东青岛人。声音设计师,作曲,播客《喧哗上等》作者,《凤凰周刊》专栏作者。

毕业于北京电影学院声音学院电影声音制作与理论专业,师从刘嘉教授。

早稻田大学基干理工学研究科表现工学博士研究生,师从森本洋太。

曾任氪一科技《机器人争霸VR》、完美世界《诛仙世界》游戏声音设计、游戏自媒体策划等工作。曾在中、日、美多所高校的学生短篇电影、动画作品担任录音、作曲、声音设计。

个人作品通常使用即兴演奏、电子音乐、田野录音、模拟影像、3D建模等形式,并通过Max/Msp程序进行视听互动影音作品(Audiovisual)。他的个人作品主要包括:

录音作品《Beijing Subway Improvisation》系列
现场电子音乐《Imaginary Landscape:A Live Electronic Music for Radio,Trombone and Max/Msp》
Audiovisual作品《Yantai Hill》《Moist: The Stone Old Man and Sea》《Are You Still Moving Forward》《Embers:Are You Still There》等,主要探讨和反思现代性语境下人文情感与社会环境之间的互动关系。作品曾展出于福州、北京、东京、澳门、札幌等地。

专注于日本声音艺术文化的研究和译介工作,曾为真锅大度、濑户正人、山田尚子等多位日本艺术家担任采访和翻译。

Biography:


Liu Chen (a.k.a. liusancai or Dustymare ) is a sound designer, composer, and researcher from Qingdao, Shandong, China. He holds a Master’s degree in Arts and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Intermedia Art and Science, Graduate School of Fundamental Science and Engineering, Waseda University, Japan. He is the creator of the podcast “Excellent Noise” and a regular columnist for Phoenix Weekly. He studied film sound production and theory at the School of Sound Arts, Beijing Film Academy, under Professor Liu Jia.

Liu has worked as a sound designer and media planner for projects such as Robot Battle VR (by Kere One Technology) and Jade Dynasty World (by Perfect World). He has also contributed sound recording, composition, and sound design to short films and animations by students from various universities in China, Japan, and the United States.

His creative works often integrate improvisation, electronic music, field recording, analog video, and 3D modeling. Using Max/MSP, he explores audiovisual interactivity through digital media. Representative works include the recording series Beijing Subway Improvisation, the live electronic music piece Imaginary Landscape: A Live Electronic Music for Radio, Trombone and Max/MSP, and audiovisual pieces such as Yantai Hill, Moist: The Stone Old Man and Sea, Are You Still Moving Forward, and Embers: Are You Still There. His work focuses on the emotional and sociocultural relationships between humans and modernity, and has been exhibited in cities including Fuzhou, Beijing, Tokyo, Macau, and Sapporo.

Liu is also dedicated to researching and translating Japanese sound art and media culture. He has conducted interviews and served as interpreter/translator for several Japanese artists, including Daito Manabe, Masato Seto, and Naoko Yamada.
